Your Body is a Faithful & Devoted Messenger

Your body is a faithful and devoted messenger, and the phenomenal vessel through which you live your life. When you are alert and present in your body, it’s easier to access and decipher the emotions and sensations that arise.

But, most of us have some unresolved trauma and chronic stress, which makes that more of a challenge. Reconnecting with your body is paramount in order to heal physically and befriend your intuitive self.

To regularly access this built in navigation system, take at least a few minutes a day to consciously and slowly draw breath deeply into your body, and notice what comes up for you. Breath connects you to all other living things, and is a tool that is always with you, and available to you wherever you are.

When you consciously and slowly breathe deeply, you engage the autonomic nervous system (which functions without our awareness or conscious effort). A physical sensation, emotion, or whatever arises can bring new awareness and help you to clarify and navigate your path.

Notice that which arises while continuing to breathe into that space and gently ask, “what do you need right now?” I like to place one hand on the area I’m in communication with, for focus and support. Sometimes, it’s enough just to breathe into the area or acknowledge it. Other times, there will be a message involved.

Body signals are messengers and you are your own investigator. From here you can restore connection, deepen awareness, self-regulate, feel embodied in delicious wholeness and find more peace and balance.
